Section One of the Honors Journal takes inventory of your God-given personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses.

Section Overview

About this Lesson

The goal of the Honors Journal is to live our life with a Kingdom Mindset.
We develop a Kingdom Mindset by understanding how our God-given abilities and passions intersect to help the people around us.

Kingdom Mindset shifts our identity from the limitations of our abilities, and gives us a front row seat to the plans God has for us. When we allow God to use our life for the benefit of others, we find immeasurable joy, purpose, calling, and meaning. We develop vision for our future, discernment for our present, and often context for our past.

We become better leaders at home, more intentional friends, and ready to lead others in the ways of Jesus. Understanding our S.H.A.P.E. (as Rick Warren calls it) is the first step of this process and section one of the Honors Journal. Entrepreneurs call this a SWOT exercise; taking inventory of our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within the Discovery section, we’ll take a series of online assessments to better understand how God has uniquely equipped us to find and pursue His calling. These assessments are not meant to be prescriptive or predictive. You may disagree with some of their results, and that’s okay. The point here is to invest some time on self reflection so that we may discern what is true.

Next, we’ll begin the work of converting our insights into action by creating a strategic vision, defining our targets, and setting some life goals. Let’s get started! -------------------------------- QUOTES & INSIGHTS -------------------------------- "The way to find your calling is to look at the way you were created. Your gifts have not emerged by accident." - Timothy Keller "By learning about ourselves more deeply, we can give others the gift of our presence and our full attention." - David Daniels M.D. "We cannot change what we are not aware of, and once we are aware, we cannot help but change." - Sheryl Sandberg
